About GBC Sport & Event Marketing

The Sport & Event Marketing, 12-month (three-semester) postgraduate program at George Brown College, began its run in 1990. Pete McAskile, founder of the GBC program, saw a need for employees and entrepreneurs in the ever growing, fast paced arena of sports marketing, event marketing, and sponsorship.  As a pioneer in the field, Pete provided leadership to the program  by teaching in the program, serving on the Advisory Committee for over 10 years and providing leadership to the sports marketing community at large.   The program focuses on teaching students to leverage sports, entertainment and cause-related marketing to provide innovative marketing solutions.
